Meet “What’s going on?” - an app that tackles exactly that. It’s a social diary for you and your closest friends, fully focused on privacy and getting you closer to your friends and family.
You can journal your own thoughts, your ideas and look back on a timeline of important events in your life. Include voice notes about that special person you just met, tag the place of that first kiss or add your snaps of that evening on the beach - all in a fun and meaningful way.
In “What’s going on?” you decide what you share. The app can be used fully on its own without the need to share memories with your friends. But if you decide to share, all of your shared moments live in your personal iCloud and only you can invite someone to have a look.
What’s going on is built with Apple’s newest technologies, targets iOS 17 and is available from 04/15/24.

“What’s Going On?” is more than just my first solo flight into the world of iOS app development, it’s a personal project born from the simple need to stay genuinely connected.
After wrapping up my previous venture with epap (full story here), I dove into learning SwiftUI and, along the way, decided to share the journey online.
Documenting every step on X has been a rewarding experience, offering me a platform to engage with others, exchange feedback, and build a little community around the app’s development.
The spark for “What’s Going On?” came from a shift I noticed in my own life after university. The daily interactions with close friends gradually faded into occasional catch-ups.
I saw a need for something more personal than the sprawling networks of mainstream social media, where intimate life updates can easily get lost. That’s when I set out to create an app that could help us all keep a tab on those we care about most.
In today’s world, where social media often feels like a loud marketplace, “What’s Going On?” is a quiet corner booth. It’s a place where memories and moments with friends and family can be journaled, savored, and revisited without the clutter.
